Optic Neuritis And Me

No matter what we expect or wish, things happen as destined. No amount of worry or anxiety will stop what is bound to happen. Prayers help strengthen and make our minds wise. Prayers might not prevent an incident from occurring, but they give us the determination and faith to face adversities with a much calmer mindset. My encounter with a medical condition called Optic Neuritis is one such incident.

I have broken up the incident into parts. I wanted readers to know the details of what might otherwise seem like a minor problem. My faith in God is unshaken, making me fight, argue, and complain more than others. At least, that is what I believe. If He can, then why is He not doing it? This is my usual question to Him. Irrespective of whether He lets things happen for a reason, I don’t take difficult situations for granted.

Panic, worry and stress over situations,

is what I usually do. For sure, these attributes affect everyone around me. But this is who I am and what I am. I chose to narrate this incident for a reason. A challenging situation also ends over time. All we need is a little patience and some strength to endure. We all have these virtues, but refuse to use them when we need them. Without wasting much time, come with me on this journey of my encounter with a medical condition called Optic Neuritis.
