Woven Fates

1985, Bicholim, Goa.
Samar Khanna and Suniti Saini, who belong to the small town of Bicholim, had hoped for a dream wedding at Mayem Lake. They were passionately in love. Their paths had crossed during a family wedding. It was love at first sight when Samar Khanna set his eyes on Suniti Saini. He belonged to an elite-class family in that town, while she was the daughter of a middle-class man who worked in a gold worker’s factory. Samar was drawn towards her as a moth to a flame. Nevertheless, she did not deny the effect of his magnetic charm on her either.

They enjoyed one another’s company and spent hours,

pouring their hearts out to one another. It was as if their bodies had met for the first time, but their souls had been united for eternity. Mayem Lake was their favourite meeting spot, where they had planned a future together. Suniti wished to marry Samar in this very place and raise their children in his beautiful house. She had even decided on the colours for the walls and curtains of their home. The spark between them was evident to everyone, and theirs was the town’s most talked-about love tale. Despite the opposition from Samar’s family to this union, he assured her a safe and promising life.

Just when Suniti was looking forward to a future with Samar, fate separated them, leaving her devastated. She had vowed never to see him again, assuming that he had betrayed her. Will their paths cross once again?

  2. Chetnaji I loved the first part of woven fates, waiting eagerly for other parts too. I loved the previous stories also. I m from Goa and if you won’t mind I want to bring to your notice that the name of the place is Bicholim and not Bikholim. Sorry for the interpretation. Please Please Please don’t mind.
