The Middle Class

People started living happily, like the cartoon Tree of unity’s end.
But the wrath of class fell upon, dividing them into groups, setting a new human trend.

The fortunate rich ones, the forbearing poor, at the extremes.
And the most dreaded, the middle class, the topic of life’s funny memes.

Born with a golden spoon, the rich clan is which everyone dreams for.
Choosy and picky, in everything, including their washroom’s decor.

Giving a second thought before spending is a rare syndrome in them.
Their so-called problems also shine like the diamonds in a hem.

Where to party, and what to wear, are a few to name.
They are born to enjoy, rule, and are by default, entitled to fame.

Luxury and money crawl at their feet.
They are far away from the chaos and pathos of adjustments and defeat.

The poor are by birth, forever resilient and understanding.
Sacrificing and compromising are synonyms to their normal living.

Self-worth is nowhere in their dictionary.
Some even die staying strangers to this phrase, on the contrary.

Spending money for a birthday also is a big deal.
In fact, their birthday marks the onset of a journey of suppressed dreams, often unfulfilled.

The most suffocating is the middle class, smiling 24/7.
Their ability to adjust, is just unbeatable and shocking to a layman.

They can neither enjoy nor complaint.
Their biggest trait is to live with restraint.

They dream and yearn for a better life but know it is impossible.
Being neither rich nor poor, is a curse which is invisible.

If a miracle can happen, let it happen.
So, this wrath of class disappears, from the human clan.

I dream and wish for a world with no partitions of class and disparity.
As all jasmines are white, so be all humans, in terms of resources and simplest commodity.

When a child is born, let him live with self-worth.
Be it black or white, jovial or crybaby, but not middle class, by birth.
