Hemant Sen lay on the floor, while everyone rushed toward him. Karan and Anurag gave him support on both sides to pick him up from the floor. Carefully, they took him inside and laid him on the bed. Anurag checked his pulse. Mithila was in tears. Sumitra rushed with a glass of water. Samiksha was sensitive, yet resilient. She rubbed his feet’ undersides. Karan asked Anurag, ” Shall we take him to the hospital?”
Anurag was calm. Being a doctor, he replied with grace, “There is nothing to worry about. Has he fainted like this before?”
He looked at Sumitra, Mithila and Samiksha.
Mithila wiped her tears and said, “Last week, he felt dizzy and suddenly sat on the chair. This happened when you all went to Poorna. I forgot to tell you. He has low blood pressure, so I thought it was because of that. Is he alright, Anurag?”
“Yes, but if it has happened recently, we must have a thorough check-up done.” He gave an injection to Hemant Sen. Mithila sat next to his pillow.
Back in their room, Samiksha sobbed on Karan’s shoulders.

Karan consoled her, “Please calm down.”
“I feel this all has happened because of me.”
“What all? Dada fainted because of some underlying health problem. We will find out what it is. You were trying to reunite a family. That’s it.”
“I should go to Maa. She needs me.”
“You take a rest for some time. Sumitra Bhabhi is with her. Don’t worry.”
After some time, Hemant Sen came to his senses. He looked around to find his family looking at him.
“How are you feeling now?” Mithila kept her palm on his forehead and asked.
“You all have betrayed me. Why did you meet Poorna despite my prohibition?”
“Dada, do you really hate Poorna so much?”
“You don’t talk to me Samiksha. Because of you my family is against me today.”
“No. Dada. Because of her, Maa could meet her daughter after so many years.”
“Please stop this discussion.” Anurag intervened. “He needs rest. Dada, we need to do some tests. We are leaving in an hour.”
Hemant Sen tried to get out of bed. “I won’t go anywhere.” But he again felt dizzy. Anurag told Karan, “Let us not waste time. I am calling an ambulance.”
Hemant Sen was taken to a hospital immediately.
Necessary tests were done. Anurag was in talks with the doctors there. Everyone from the family was there. Sumitra sat beside Samiksha. “Relax. I understand what you are going through.”
“My intention was not to hurt anyone, Baudi,” Samiksha replied, rubbing her eyes.
“I know. In fact, everyone knows.”
“Poorna.” Sumitra almost screamed, looking up. Poorna and Rex stood near them with concern on their faces.
“How is Dada? Did he take medicine?” Sumitra and Samiksha made her sit on the bench.
“Who told you, dear?”
“Karan Da. Please tell me, is he fine?”
“Yes. Reports will come in sometime. Let us pray that he will be fine soon.”
Mithila met them and shared her grief with her only daughter, Poorna.
When the reports came in at night, Anurag sat with the in-charge doctors and discussed them with the specialists. Others waited eagerly for him to come out of the cabin. As he emerged, Karan asked him, “All is well?”
Mithila and others had the same query.
“Please don’t panic. Could you sit down first?” He made everyone sit.
“Please speak up. I am scared.” Mithila was in tears already.
“Relax, I and other doctors are here. Dada is suffering from a medical condition called Aplastic Anemia.”
“What is that?” Karan asked with concern.
“It is curable. Please don’t worry. His bone marrow cannot produce enough red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. But a donor can help to cure this condition.”
“That is great. How do you think we should go about that? I mean, for finding a donor, we will have to search or give an ad or something?” Karan asked at once.
“Listen, the transplant works more successfully if the donor is from the patient’s family itself.”
All present there spoke together, “Test mine first.”
But the first person to speak was none other than Rex. Anurag smiled at him. Giving him a warm hug, he continued.
Tomorrow morning, we will administer our tests to determine whose HLA matches that of Dada.”
Anurag took Poorna into his arms, who was inconsolably crying. “Poori, calm down. Don’t you trust your brother?”
“I do Dada.” She wiped her tears and smiled at him.
“Let us take some rest. Karan and I will stay back here. You all go home.” He shook hands with Rex. “Thank you, brother. I understand your concern, but the donor should be a blood relation. I know you are there for us.”
Everyone left. Before leaving, Anurag spoke to Samiksha, “Don’t worry, my dear. He will be fine. Just tell your Bandhu to make everything alright like before. He listens to you, right?” Samiksha nodded her head and left.
The bright shining moon already answered Samiksha’s question. With teary eyes, she smiled back at the moon, “Thank you, Bandhu.”
