Tenants

There is a lot to see in Mumbai.
Be it the Gateway of India or the Sealink of Worli.
But the most interesting thing is the tenants’ journey.

At many intervals, you will find these dreamers.
Some reside in small buildings, while others are located in massive towers.

One should learn from them how to live with a smile and ease.

I have come across such warriors only in books and movies.

While shifting to the next rented abode, everyone has this small wish.
May the next abode be our own and not on lease.

Paying rent is not a big deal; only a few rupees leave the wallet or a purse.
But departing from the bonds made makes the pain of departure worse.

Relations and bonds with human beings might be lovelorn.
With the swaying trees, chirpy birds and selfless animals, pure feelings are born.

It is complicated to convince the naive heart.

The brain and heart always think apart.

Smiling wholeheartedly at the rented home, they give part of their lives.
To lock and move on, leaves behind unshed tears and quiet cries.

Countless complaints, beautiful memories, and a few celebrations are also locked.
Unanswered prayers to the Almighty are among the wishes that are queued and blocked.

Packing luggage and roaming is the life of an adventure lover.
But to do so helplessly is the obligation of a tenant for sure.

The most feeble person is the one who is hard-working and diligent,

He has to spend a considerable amount on paying rent.

I pray to God that everyone on this earth has a home of their own.
They won’t need consent to make tiny changes from someone unknown.
