The Moonchild – 21st Part

Hemant Sen was in shock to see his wife, his daughter-in-law, and, above all, his daughter there. He turned quickly and stood behind a pillar so he wouldn’t be visible to them. Bending, he asked the little boy, “Who all are they, child?”
Joy answered at once, “There is my mother, Papa, my Dadi and Samiksha Mami.”
Rising up, Hemant Sen straightened his spectacles. Patting the boy’s head, he left the hotel.

Joy came back to his family. Poorna asked him, “Did you see the fish tank?”
“Yes, Maa. You know, I met one grandpa there.” He pointed at the fish tank. ” I think he left. He was very nice.”
“You should not talk to strangers, Joy,” Mithila told her grandson at once.
“No, Dadi, he was very nice.”
“He is the same as his mother,” Rex told everyone. “Beta, not to trust everyone this way.”
“Sorry, Papa.” Joy went into his father’s arms. They finished the food and left from there. Samiksha and Mithila went back home.

Hemant Sen was waiting for them.

Sumitra offered him water, “Dada, will you have food now or wait for Maa?”
“I will wait for her.”
As soon as they came, he rose from his chair. Mithila avoided eye contact with him, which Hemant Sen obviously noticed.
“Shall we have food?”
“Yes, come.” Mithila and Samiksha headed to change clothes.

“Don’t you think eating a meal twice is not good for health, Mithila?”
Mithila and Samiksha were at a loss for words. Still, Samiksha answered, “Dada, we had just been out for shopping.”
“Since when did The Chef hotel turn into a shopping centre?” Hemant Sen dropped the bomb.

Mithila’s face turned pale white. Samiksha caught her hand firmly.

“So you met her?”
“Dada, I took Maa to Poorna. Please don’t say anything to her.”
“I am talking to my wife.” Hemant Sen’s stern reply was so loud that Sumitra rushed there quickly. Seeing the situation, she called Karan and Anurag. Samiksha spoke fearlessly. “I took a yearning mother to her daughter, and I know, you also yearn to meet Poorna.”
“Quiet, girl.”
Sumitra rang the brothers once again.

They were at their respective offices. Both managed to come home at the earliest. The situation at their home was tense. Mithila was on the sofa, sobbing. Besides, Samiksha firmly grasped her hand.
“I don’t believe this. My family stabs my back and I am unaware of it.”
Karan and Anurag looked at each other, and the former stepped forth.
“Dada, please listen to me.”

“Your wife has done all this. She dared to go against my wish and took Mithila there.”
Samiksha spoke, “Poorna is your daughter, Dada. How can you forget the moments you spent with her so easily?”
“Samiksha, I am speaking,” Karan told her firmly.

“Despite my prohibition, you all kept relations with her secretly?”

“No, Dada, I found out about Poorna recently and took the initiative to bring her back to our family.”
“Samiksha.” Karan scolded her.
“Karan Da. Samiksha Baudi is right.” Anurag said, finally. Sumitra stood next to him and nodded.
“I see. My whole family is turned against me. It is all because of you, Samiksha.”

“No Dada. She has tried to give justice to Poorna. Please calm down first.”

“Calm down? You all have plotted against me. I saw how these two were sitting with that strange man at the hotel. They were giggling and eating food happily.”

“He is your Jamata, not a stranger,” Karan replied.
“Keep your advocacy at your office, do not show me.” Hemant Sen almost shouted at Karan.
“Dada, please don’t boil your blood.” Samiksha tried to catch his hand. He shunned her angrily and lost his balance.

He felt dizzy suddenly. Hemant Sen collapsed. Everyone rushed to him.
