Her Abductor – 2nd Chapter

After 2 Years . . .
Samiksha was in a good mood as she visited her favourite Holiday spot, Forno Beach, on the Tuscan island of Elba. She had been here for two years. Her recent visit was to celebrate her engagement with her family friend, Roshan Mittal. She was a natural beach lover and often visited the calm, serene waters of the sea, but Forno Beach had a special place in her heart. The family decided to stay there for a week and then return to plan Samiksha’s wedding. Everyone was in a jolly mood as the only daughter in the family was soon to be a bride. After a sumptuous dinner, as they returned to their Hotel, Samiksha wanted to visit the shops. Roshan fondly told his fiance, “Hmm. Don’t you think it’s a bit late? I am accompanying you.”
“No way. I need to shop at leisure without any restrictions or opinions. So, let me be on my own. Otherwise, I am familiar with this place. I have a map too. So please don’t worry.”

Roshan knew

that he was going to lose the argument; hence, he didn’t start any.
“I can’t win against you, so go ahead, but please return soon.”
Samiksha’s mom was listening to the conversation and finally spoke.
“Roshan, you have spoiled my daughter. Don’t give in to her demands so easily, son. She is already pampered enough by her dad and uncle.”
“And why not. After all, she is Sharma’s only daughter. She deserves to be pampered.”
“Hmm. So I am out of this conversation. I am heading back; you handle your fiance. Bye.”
Samiksha laughed, kissed him on the cheek quickly, and disappeared into the crowd. Roshan dialled a number and started a chat, strolling towards the Hotel.

It was dark, but people were still busy shopping and roaming around. Samiksha walked through the street, enjoying the view of the beautiful place. She noticed a lane from which lights glittered and shimmered in the dark. It fascinated her, and she headed towards it. On entering it further, she saw it was lonely without much public; hence, she thought of returning. As she turned around, a hand covered her mouth with a cloth. She tried to fight and scream but was losing consciousness. Within a few seconds, she collapsed into the hands of the man.

Back at the Hotel,

Samiksha’s family sat in their room and started discussing the wedding. Roshan looked at his watch and dialled Samiksha’s number. It was busy, so he continued chatting with her family.
“Roshan, when will she return, son? I told you not to allow her to go, but you never listen to me when it comes to her.”
“Don’t worry, Mom, she will return soon. I will call her.” He got up and went to the lobby area. On redialing her number, he found it out of the network, and now he got worried. He dialled again and again but got the same response. He hurried back and talked to Samiksha’s mom,
“Mom, I will just get her back, okay? She might be in one of the shops.”
“She did not take your call?”
“Um, no, but there might be a network issue. Don’t worry. I will get her back.”

Samiksha slowly came back to her senses,

and looked around. She found herself in a vast, spacious room, designed with ancient architecture. She got up but lost her balance. Somehow, when approaching the door, Samiksha tried to open it. It was locked. She tried to force open it but in vain. Fear engulfed her as she tried to figure out what might have happened. She screamed for help, looking from one end of the room to the other. But she soon noticed the strong, thick walls of the room, which quickly absorbed her voice. She sat on the chair and gazed around helplessly. Tears flowed down her cheeks, and her sobs had the company of only one person, herself.

After a gap of some time, she overheard footsteps. She got scared, wondering what would happen when the door opened. Slowly, the door opened, and a lady with food on her plate entered the room. Walking towards Samiksha, she put the plate down on a table and started to leave.
“Wait”, Samiksha caught her hand and shouted, “Where am I? Which place is this? How did I come here? Who are you?”
Freeing her hand, the lady looked at Samiksha without any expression or emotion and turned back again.

Samiksha blocked her way somehow, as the effect of the solution used to make her unconscious was still in her system.
“Are you deaf? Can’t you hear what I asked? Where am I?”
“Eat the food, woman. It will keep you on your feet. And if you want… ”
“I asked Where am I?” Samiksha literally screamed at her.

“Listen,

You know you cannot get out of here. So, why are you punishing your body? Please eat. I need to go.”
“Take me out of here. And for God’s sake, tell me where am I? My family is waiting for me. I need to go back to them. My mom will be crying for me.”
“I’m sorry, woman. I cannot do anything but see that you are fit and fine. So please eat.”
“I think you are out of your mind. Till you answer my questions, I will not touch this food.”
“Hmm. Then I cannot do anything for you. Eat when you feel good and then change your clothes. There,” she pointed a finger towards the cupboard, “are clothes for you. Wear them, OK?”

“Neither will I eat nor will do what you say. Just get out of here.”
Saying this, Samiksha angrily pushed her away. When the lady opened the door, Samiksha tried to escape but found three huge men standing outside with guns. Samiksha was at a loss for words. Dumbstruck, she stepped back slowly, and one of the men closed the door, locking it. Samiksha burst into tears and sat down on the floor, crying out loud,
“I am so sorry, Mom, for not listening to you. I miss you, Mom. Dad, please get me out of here.”

Extremely worried,

Samiksha’s mom asked Roshan,
“Where is Samiksha? Why is she not back yet?”
“Mom, please sit. Dad, you be with Mom.” Roshan asked Samiksha’s father, “Even I am unaware of what might have happened. When I searched the shops nearby, a few people recognised her photo and confirmed that she had been there some time ago. I have no idea where she went after that. But please don’t worry. I will find her out.”
“But why did you allow her to go in the first place?” Samiksha’s dad, Rahul Sharma, was infuriated.

“I know I shouldn’t have, and I am sorry for that. Let me go and find out.”
“I am coming with you. In fact, let’s go to the police.”
“As you say. But I feel you should be with Mom and take care of her. Please, Dad.”

Somehow, Rahul agreed to stay back and consoled his wife, assuring her, “No matter what, I will bring your daughter back to you. I promise.”
