Her Abductor – 1st Chapter

The breeze was cool and mixed with the fragrance of the cherry blossoms. People came to the breathtaking Forno Beach to relax with friends and family. Some locals and many visitors were vacationing along with their families. The shades of tall pines surrounding the breathtaking Forno Beach were visible almost everywhere. Karan Khanna, son of the mighty, influential Saurabh Khanna, strolled along the beach. Meanwhile, his accomplices, cousins and friends were enjoying the beauty of the pleasant weather. Karan peeped into his phone and caught sight of the beach.

Amid the people,

He noticed a playful, beautiful girl dipping her hand in the sea water. Taking some water from the cavity of her palms, she looked at the glistening water in the sunlight, smiled, and repeated the process. She was lost in her own world and enjoying the moment in her naive way. Karan realised he had been staring at her nonstop. He looked away to avoid making her feel uncomfortable about being stalked. But soon, his eyes made their way towards her again and again.

She was about to get up when she noticed Karan gazing at her. The honesty and purity in his eyes did not go unnoticed by her. She looked down and slowly again at him. He smiled at her, but she was unsure how to respond.

A man calling her from a distance distracted her, and she looked for him.
“Samiksha, we are leaving in ten minutes. Shall we?”
“20 minutes? Please.”
The man answered, “Alright.”
Karan thought in mind, ‘So her name is Samiksha. But is she a local or some tourist? Who is she?’

“Hey Karan, let’s leave.

Your dad needs you back at home.”
Sanjay, Karan’s cousin, and his friend informed him.
Karan looked back to see if he could find the beauty on the beach again. But she was gone. He was surprised, as she wished to stay for 20 minutes more. Anyway, he decided to leave.
As he arrived in his Lamborghini, the chauffeur opened the door.
“I can do this. You people have spoilt my habits like anything.”
“But Sir, we get paid for the same; it’s our source of income. And we have to deliver our duties.”
“Agree.” Karan smiled and entered the vast mansion, his house.

“So you are back.”

“Yes, Dad. You cannot expect me to wait further on the beach when you passed on a message to get me back as soon as possible, right?”
“Sarcasm is in your blood, son.”
“It’s an inheritance. Willingly or not, it runs through my blood, for sure.”
“You are my only son. Obviously, I look up to you. After me, you have to continue this legacy and . . .”
Karan’s laughter interrupted his words.
“What was funny?”
“Legacy. Really? Excuse me. I need to prepare for my music class.”

Without delay, Karan left the room, leaving his dad there.
“Everything happens at the right time, friend. You cannot rush things. You might feel money can buy anything. But certainly not anyone’s will. A person is a master of his own will, as you are of yours, right?”
Jo Carter spoke as he walked towards Saurabh Khanna. The eyes and ears of Saurabh, the caretaker of his several businesses, and Jo were family to him.

“I am 62 now. How much more do I have to wait?”
“Till the right time comes. Come on, let’s have a drink. Relax. Let Karan enjoy what he loves. Music. It’s okay. He is barely 26. Let him feel alive, Saurabh. Come on.”
He pulled his friend and led him towards the drinks corner.

Karan was playing the guitar

in his music class. It was one thing he craved. He found solace while playing with the strings. It made him forget whatever he wanted to. Needless to say, some familiar face made an entry and exit in his mind, bringing a faint smile to his lips. At her Hotel, Samiksha started packing her bags as it was time to leave. She had come with her family and a friend on a small vacation to Italy. Residing in Austria, she belonged to an elite-class family. A smiling face flashed in her mind, and she stopped for a second. Nodding her head, she continued her packing.

She informed her family about a last-minute shopping trip at the airport and stepped inside an accessories shop. While observing the ornaments, her eyes fell on a beautiful necklace with a pendant carved with the letter ‘S’. She took the ornament in her hand and tried it on. While looking into the mirror, she noticed a familiar face. Turning around, Samiksha realised he was the same person gazing at her on the beach. When he saw her, he stopped staring at the shirt in his hand.

Walking towards her, he moved his hand through his hair. She kept the necklace down and looked into his glowing eyes.
“I am Karan.”
Samiksha was at a loss for words at his quick initiative.
“Samiksha.”
“I know.”
“How?”
“Sorry, but I overheard someone calling your name at the beach today.”

She gave a faint smile

and spoke, “Actually I was leaving …” her voice was interrupted by the ring of her phone.
He could not believe his eyes as he had not expected to meet her again. She answered the call and started to leave.
“Sorry, I have to leave. Nice meeting you. You are very kind and …”
“And?”
“Good.” She giggled and started to walk.
“Wait.”
Turning around, she looked at him with intense eyes.

“May I get your phone number?”
“Why?”
“To talk.”
“Hmm. Let’s do this. You will have my phone number if I ever meet you again.”
Karan laughed out loud and said, “You see a lot of movies, don’t you?”
“I do, and it’s fine to be a little dramatic. It’s exciting.”
“Please.”
“Why are you so doubtful about our next meeting?”

“Hmm, just like that. I am scared to lose whatever I …”
She waited for him to continue, but her phone rang again.
“I have to leave now. Bye. See you again.”
“Why did you call me kind?”
“It’s seen in your eyes and reflected from your heart. Don’t change.

Till we meet again. Bye.”
Karan went to the counter, where she saw the ornament. He bought it at once.
‘I will adorn you with this beauty myself, one day.’
