जब होती है बिदाई बेटी की,
आँखों से होती है बरसात मोतियों की,
देते है दुआएं माता पिता, घर तेरा सदा रहे आबाद,
न जाने कैसा होगा हमारा दामाद।

पराये घर मैं न कमी हो तुझे प्यार की,
खुशियां सदा बरसती रहे यही करते है फरियाद,
माँ बाप होते है यही सोचकर परेशान,
न जाने कैसा होगा हमारा दामाद।

सौंप के अपने कलेजे का टुकड़ा,

छुपाकर रखते है उम्र भर ये दुखड़ा,
क्या निभाएगा ये कर्त्तव्य बेटा बनने के बाद,
न जाने कैसा होगा हमारा दामाद।

शुरू होता है संसार बेटी का जब,
माँ बाप के साथ बिताये पल धुंदले होते जाते है तब,
कम करती है बेटी आजकल हमें याद,
न जाने कैसा होगा हमारा दामाद।

दामाद की होती है जब तरक्की,

वो फल होता है सास ससुर की दुआओं का जब की,
धुंदली होती जाती है उनकी बलिदान की याद,
न जाने कैसा होगा हमारा दामाद।

दामाद जब भी घर आये,
माँ बाप की खुशियां फूली न समाये।
पर कामयाबी और तरक्की छूती है जब इंसान को,
वो भूल जाता है इस छोटी सी बात को,
घर जो मेरा संवार रही है,
माँ बाप को अकेला छोड़ वो घर मेरे आयी है।
ज़िम्मेदारी मेरी भी है उन दोनों के लिए,
बेटी को बिदा करके जिन्होंने आंसू के घूँट पी लिए।

पत्नी मिल गयी,

घर संवर गया,
न रहा कुछ भी अब याद,
माँ बाप सोचते रह गए,
क्यों बेटा न बन पाया … हमारा दामाद।
