Those Minimal Earners

I noticed two labourers yesterday afternoon.
Both stole a moment of rest, probably not less than a boon.

Seeing them peacefully sleeping brought me unknown joys and pleasures.
Stealing those moments, they got a good sleep worth two hours.

They might be paid minimally compared to others.
But the peace on their faces is hardly visible on the faces of those staying in the towers.

The plumbers who stop the taps from leaking into our home.
They often let their unfulfilled dreams wait and roam.

The watchman who stays awake the whole night to protect us.
He may be unable to supply his family’s basic needs more than once.

The electrician who fixes our switchboard in an hour.
He might keep waiting his whole life for the blessings of his fate to shower.

A painter who puts his life at risk to colour our building walls’ decor.
He probably awaits the colours of joy in his life forever.

What can I say about the garbage pickers? https://blogbyhema.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fblogbyhema.com%2F2026%2F05%2F01%2Fi-noticed-two-labourers%2F%3Fpreview%3Dtrue%26preview_id%3D8820%26preview_nonce%3D7fe087e723%26frame-nonce%3Db3793b58d2
They wait their entire life for someone to pick up their ill-fated problems.

But, despite fate against them, the minimal earners have two things in abundance.
Their resilience and their ability to forget the pain and just dance.

Maybe that’s why they sleep with such peace and are happy-go-lucky.
Neither the scorching sun nor the wages they earn daily bother their sleep, probably.

I have only one complaint to the Almighty … Time, anyway, doesn’t support them.
Why do you shake hands with Time and not them?
