Her Abductor – Conclusion

Roshan was speechless to see Samiksha right outside the hotel room. As he fumbled with what words to utter, Karan emerged from behind Samiksha. He slowly pushed her inside the room before locking it. He removed his gun and pointed it straight. Meanwhile, Samiksha’s parents came to the main room, shocked to see the scenario. Her dad shouted at once,
“Samiksha, be careful. I am giving the money, so why are you after my daughter? You are the abductor, right? Please don’t harm my daughter.”

“Dad, he is protecting me, not harming me.”
“What?”
“Yes, Dad. He has come with me to make sure I am safe.”
Roshan gulped air, thinking of his next move.
“Protection from whom, Sami?”
“From him.” Samiksha pointed her finger at Roshan without fear.
Both her parents were confused as well as shocked.

“You heard right, Dad.

My abductor turned out to be my saviour. And the one with whom I was planning my future is behind all this mess and plot.”
“I am unable to get you, child.”
Roshan noticed the situation’s vulnerability and tried to run away, but Karan caught him immediately. He pointed his gun at Roshan.
“No tricks with me, Roshan. I have never used it in my life. But for Samiksha’s sake, I can and I will. So stop this game.”

Roshan knew he had lost it and released the bags on the floor.
“Dad, Roshan planned all this. He got me abducted. And then pretended to find me, misleading you both. He wants nothing else but money.”
Samiksha’s mom sat on the sofa with a heavy heart. She immediately sat beside her mother and hugged her.
“Thank God you are safe, Samiksha.” Cupping her face, the grieving mother spoke to her daughter.

Karan had already informed the police.

In a short while, they came and arrested Roshan. As one of the policemen approached Karan, he signalled with his hands and spoke something in Italian to him: “Aspettami per favore.” The police left from there, taking Roshan with them.

“Dad, Mom, I need to tell you something. I met Karan two years back at Forno Beach, when we all came for holidays here. I failed to realize the care and concern he had for me then. But now, my heart has found the right match. Karan, come here.”
She entwined her fingers within hers and spoke,
“I love him, Mom.”
“But Sami, he is the one who abducted you.”
“Mom, sometimes things are not as they appear. We all treated Roshan as family. But look what he did to us. He cheated on us for money. I was fortunate that Karan was the one Roshan approached for this work. If anyone else …”
“Stop, Samiksha. Don’t even say anything.” Karan stopped her at once.

Samiksha smiled at Karan.

“Now you know, Mom, why I chose him? He cannot bear the thought of someone harming me, not even in a dream.”
Her dad finally said, “I agree with you, Samiksha. My eyes failed once to recognize the truth; they won’t now.”
“Thanks, Dad.” Samiksha hugged her father happily, but her mom was still shocked.

Karan noticed this and strolled towards her. He gently made her sit down and kneeled in front of her, placing his hands on hers.
“When Samiksha was not with you, how did you feel? I mean, what did you think of doing? Tell me without any fear.”
She was at first hesitant. Later, she started speaking.

“I felt to go out and search Samiksha. No one allowed me to. I would have done anything to find her. But I couldn’t.”
“I understand. Just the thought that your loved ones might be in danger disturbs you to the core. I have seen my dear dad’s face of wrath in front of my eyes. He was a good person at heart.” Karan wiped his eyes and continued, “He paid a heavy price for his kindness. I decided to step into this world to take revenge on my dad.”

But I failed to find solace.

I fell in love with Samiksha the moment I saw her first at Forno Beach. But things did not work out. Now, after meeting her again, I realise good things do happen for people who wait. Suddenly, life became precious to me. I wanted to lead a good, respectful life again, just for her.” He pointed to Samiksha.

She came towards him and held his hand.
“I have lost my love once. I don’t want to lose it again. Please.” Samiksha’s mother immediately got up and wrapped his hands in hers.
“Get up, son. You have proved yourself worthy of my daughter already. Get up.”
“She is right, son. This accident was an eye-opener for us. Let us forget everything and begin once again.”

Karan looked at Samiksha.

His eyes held something profound, intense.
“Dad, Karan has been doing this work for two years. He has to surrender to the police for the same. I hope you both understand what I am trying to say.”
“We do. There is nothing more sacred than penance. I promise you, Karan, we will wait for you. After returning back, this diamond will shine more.”

Karan hugged Samiksha and her parents. She accompanied him to the door.
Karan cried when he said, “I will miss you, my darling. I don’t know how much time we will have to stay apart.”
“Shhh. The time won’t be longer than the beautiful years of togetherness we will spend later. See you very soon.”

After one year.

Karan and his fellow men were granted an early release. This compensation was due to their voluntary surrender, polite behaviour, and disclosure about some people in their field. Also, their past record did not show any instances of physical harm to anyone. On grounds of good conduct, they were free now. Everyone decided to go back to their families and lead a respectful life.

In a lavish villa,

Karan and Samiksha’s engagement commenced in the presence of near and dear ones. Sandra smiled happily as her world and her son were happy again. Karan sang a song for Samiksha on his guitar, winning the hearts of all present. Music had entered his life along with Samiksha. Everyone cheered for the couple and showered their blessings on them.

After the ceremony, Karan and Samiksha walked hand in hand on the sands of the beautiful Forno Beach.
“So, my dear abductor, do you know that my heart is in your custody forever now?”
“Of course, yes. And I am sorry. I won’t ever release it. Never.”
“You better don’t.”

“I have to give you something.”
“What, Samiksha?”

“0-8-4…” Karan laughed aloud, embracing her tightly in his strong arms.
“I don’t need your phone number anymore. The owner of this number is mine. What else do I need? I love you, Samiksha.”

“I love you too, my sweetheart.”

And they walked hand in hand towards the setting sun, towards the rise of their new, beautiful life.
