Her Abductor – 11th Chapter

Sandra was taken aback by the revelation. Samiksha felt relieved that she was not hiding anything from anyone now.
“Karan, is this true?”
“Yes, Mom. She is the one.”
“Why Samiksha? Can you explain why you were so reluctant with him then?”
Samiksha paused before speaking.
“Nothing was intentional, Sandra. It was just fun between two youngsters. And trust me, I was not aware that Karan …”
She stopped at once.

Sandra heard her unspoken words: “I trust you, Samiksha. And I know my son. He will never ask for anything from someone. But his patience and kind nature have always cost him. Now, I want you to rethink your life, son.” She turned towards Karan.
Even though he listened to his mom, half of his mind was worried for his men outside. He called one of his guards and enquired. Disconnecting the phone, he released a long sigh.

“Is everything fine outside?”

Sandra asked him with concern.
“Yes, Mom. Our men have chased away the intruders. The situation is under control now.”
Sandra sat on the nearby chair.
“Mom, are you fine?” Karan sat near her, placing his hands on hers.
“I am. But let this get over now, son. Why put so many lives at risk? I cannot see you leading a life you never intended to.”

Meanwhile, Samiksha struggled with her mind, which screamed aloud, ‘Go ahead and stop him. Don’t let him continue this miserable life.’

“Let me talk to everyone outside. We will have to surrender. Over these years, we have abducted so many people. We need to confess our acts to the Police. But after talking to my men. And yes, I will leave Samiksha safely to her home first.”

The last sentence of Karan melted Samiksha’s heart. She looked at him differently now, shocked to see his selfless, responsible attitude. How can someone be so good? Can people like Roshan and Karan exist in the same world? Karan’s voice interrupted her thoughts, and she quickly wiped her wet eyes.
“Samiksha, you sit first. Don’t worry about anything. First, I will inform your parents that you are safe.”
“Wait, Karan.”

Both Sandra and Karan were surprised at her request.
“I want to show Roshan’s true face to my parents. Please let me do this.”
“Alright, we will figure it out. I need to talk to my men now.” Karan left the room, leaving the ladies alone.

Samiksha’s turmoil was not hidden from Sandra.

She placed her hand on her head. “Sit down, Samiksha.”
Sitting next to Sandra, she slowly lowered her head on her lap.
“Do not overthink. People betray. They backstab. But then, good ones also exist. Just think, you learned the truth about your relationship from this incident. What troubled you till yesterday seems like a blessing today, right?” Samiksha nodded her head, tightening her grip on Sandra’s hands.

“Why is he so nice, Sandra?”
Smiling, she replied, “I told you, people are nice also. Above all, he genuinely cares for you. So what if you did not fall for him?”
At once, Samiksha raised her head and stood up. Wiping her tears, she managed to speak.
“Sometimes you must travel through a long bad phase before experiencing a good, blessed one. I experienced it just now. My mom always told me, Don’t look for a person you love. Instead, give your heart to the one who loves you. She is absolutely right. Maybe that is why you stood with Karan’s father like a rock. And continued support to your son too. Karan loves like you, Sandra.”

Sandra got up and hugged her tightly.

It was late evening in the huge villa. When Karan arrived for dinner, Samiksha was stunned to see his look. The old, friendly and beardless Karan seemed to be back. She couldn’t take her eyes off him as he looked more handsome. His kind, generous nature had won Samiksha from top to toe.

After dinner, the three of them sat near the bonfire in the villa’s backyard. Somehow, they were all relaxed. Sandra got up after some time. Walking towards her room, she wished Karan and Samiksha good night. They were all alone now. The crackling sound of fire, along with the rustling of leaves around, was the only sound heard.

“So, how do you want to proceed? I mean, you wished to expose Roshan, right?”
“Can we talk about us? Only us. For a change.” Samiksha interrupted him with fury in her tone. Karan noticed the sudden change in her tone at once.
“Why not. Have you seen the centre room of this house? Did Mom show it to you anytime? I asked because she used to show you around.”
“No. I haven’t.”

There was some noise in the bush nearby.

Samiksha caught Karan’s hand in fear. “Don’t worry, all is fine. You need not worry when you are with me.”
She suddenly became aware of their closeness. Her heartbeats increased rapidly, and she separated herself at once. Doing her hair nervously, she looked here and there. Karan smiled, looking away from her so as not to make her more awkward.

“So tell me, what will you do with Roshan? Raul, one of my guards, is very good at Kung Fu. He will teach him a good lesson. What say?”
“What will you do?”
Karan gazed deep into her eyes and replied without any hesitation.
“I would make him regret his existence.”

His straightforward reply

answered many questions pondering in Samiksha’s mind at once. Fidgeting nervously with her fingers, she gazed down. “Show me the room you talked about.”
“Oh yes. Come.” He escorted her towards the room.
As he opened the door for her, she entered the dark room slowly. Karan switched on the lights, which illuminated the interior of the room.
“It’s as beautiful as the other rooms. Who designed the interiors? Each part of this villa is a masterpiece.”
“It’s done by the famous designer of Dad’s era, Mr. Paccio. Lovely, isn’t it? Go ahead and see the walls. Each wall tells a story.”

As Samiksha eyed the magnificent walls, she noticed a pattern in the design. However, she couldn’t recall it.

Trying to remember it, she said, “I think I have seen this pattern somewhere.” When she turned around, she was astonished by what she saw.
