Unfortunately, it was a Sunday. They would have met and talked their hearts out if it had been a working day. Meanwhile, he texted her and asked the reason for her restlessness. But she wanted to meet and talk.
As soon as Karan went towards the door, his mom questioned him.
“Where are you going, Karan?”. He didn’t want to lie in this situation, as a single wrong step would get him and her into trouble. His silence gave Rose her answer.
“Karan,
I want you to stay away from Samiksha.”
He didn’t want to argue or justify. Under those circumstances, he felt it was best to succumb to what she said and not instigate her further.
Consequently, he returned to his room, and Aarun called.
“Hey, bro! Where are you? Guess an outing with her on this beautiful Sunday?” Aarun asked as he returned from an outdoor business meeting.
“I am at home,” Karan replied.
“What’s the matter?”
Aarun knew every pitch and tone of Karan’s voice, and he quickly found out something was wrong.
“Can’t speak on the phone. Some things happened here in your absence.”
“And the things are?” Aarun was gradually losing his patience.
“We will meet and talk, OK? I won’t be able to explain on the phone.”
Aarun was at his door without delay. Rose opened the door, and seeing her face, Aarun was sure something unpleasant had happened.
‘Hello, Aunty.”
She forced a smile and gave him the way to Karan’s room.
The minute he entered, Karan hugged him tight.
“Relax, bro.
What happened? Am sure, nothing of the sort which your friend cannot handle?”
When Karan told him everything, he was shocked like the two. Eventually, he pacified himself and spoke,
“Did you meet Samiksha today?”
“No. Mom isn’t allowing me to do so. She wanted to meet me, Aarun. I don’t know why. However, I will meet her in the evening. I don’t want to mess things up.”
“Don’t worry. There must be a solution. I will pray things will work out for you two.”
Karan looked at him with hope. When everything fails, prayers work. Samiksha had told him once.
In the evening, Karan got a call from one of his clients. He left his home and was about to go to the place where the meeting was planned when he got a call from Aarun.
“There’s no meeting, okay? The client called up on my intimation. You go and meet your Samiksha. She is waiting for you. Um, you know the place.”
As soon as he reached there,
his comfort and solace were in front of him.
The place was quiet, a little far from the city and was their favourite hideout.
Likewise, he tried to figure out what was happening in her mind first. Not to mention her angelic face was disturbed and sad as expected.
“What’s the matter?” He cupped her face in his palms.
“Karan, I.”
His strong embrace was the safest place for Samiksha. She felt the most peaceful and calm in his arms, and he held her still for some time.
The sun was about to merge with the sea, and the moon had already reached its calm sky. The sky’s colours were red, orange, and grey, significantly like a mixture of all the emotions in their lives at present.
They sat on the rocks at the shore. He was desperate to know why Samiksha called him urgently like this.

“Karan, I am an adopted child”.
Karan was shocked and speechless. He looked at her and asked,
“What!”
“My mom told me this today.”

She broke into tears and Karan took her close to himself, patting her head.
“What did she say, Sami?”
“That I was adopted by Mom and Dad from an orphanage. That means I don’t know who my parents are, Karan. I have no one in this whole world. I feel suddenly alone.”
“Shhh. Don’t ever say this when you have such a doted and loving mom, OK? I told you before that when you need someone besides you, just look up.
You will find me.”
“I love you”, she said and hugged him tighter.
“You have no idea, Samiksha, ever since I came to know the truth about our parents, what hell I have been through. Every passing second snatched you away from me. I have never felt so helpless in my entire life. Thank God you are not the biological child of my father. I don’t know what I would have done.”
His tears spoke the rest. Samiksha realised she was not the only one who had gone through all the turmoil and pain. Karan had also experienced the same trauma in the past few hours.
They sat there in silence for some time.
Many incidents had occurred in their lives in the past two days. Both were thankful to the Universe that they were not siblings. Each wanted to feel the other and forget everything for a while.
“Mom is alone. I must leave. Um. How is Aunty?”
“She is fine. Don’t worry. In the meantime, I will convince her. She is hurt right now, Sami. The pain of the past has suddenly surfaced, and she is not able to handle it. I will take care of all this. Don’t worry. Take care of Aunty. Let us give both of them some time to come out of this. Eventually, the pain will subside for our mothers.”
She looked at her solace with trust. With Karan alongside, everything seemed fine.
In the meantime, it started drizzling.

Overall, the Universe had answered her question about why all this had happened.
To make their bond more trustworthy, stronger, and unbreakable in the long run.
They hugged each other and left with their fingers in each other’s.
Destiny had brought them together, and the Universe showered its blessings on them, drenching both in its unparalleled love and passion.
By and large, destiny had arranged things in their favour.
