The Moonchild – 16th Part

“Tell me, Samiksha. Are you ready to take the blame for starting a new fight in our house?”
Samiksha looked deep into his eyes. “Why did you say sorry to me?”
“Because I behaved rudely with you in the morning and at night, too.”
“Why did you bring these flowers for me, Karan? A sorry was enough.”
“I don’t understand what you are trying to say.”
“Please give me the answer.”

“Of course, because you will feel happier by seeing the flowers. You love flowers. So I bought them for you.”
“Not only that. You tried to heal a part of me that was damaged. You did it because you were the cause of it. Right?”

“Yes. It’s but obvious.

If I have hurt you, I will only have to make amends.”
“And what if you haven’t said sorry?”
Karan said with a faint smile,
“Then this wound would have become a part of our lives. It would keep hurting you as well as me.”

She placed her hands gently on his.

“Then don’t you think Baba and Poorna also deserve to heal their wounds? The guilt Baba has been carrying for disowning his own daughter. Poorna is pain is due to abandonment by her dear family. They also have to heal these wounds, Karan.”
Samiksha kept looking into his eyes for a few moments. Karan soon realized her point.
“You can be a good lawyer, Mrs Karan Sen.”
“Hmm. Thanks for the compliment.”

“Samiksha, your thoughts are as pious as you.

But what you are saying is extremely difficult, maybe impossible …”
She kept her finger on his lips. “Don’t you accept challenging cases in your profession?”
Karan joined his hands in front of her.
“I give up. I cannot win against you, wifey. Anurag and I will be grateful if you bring our Poorna back to us.” Samiksha did a thumbs-up action and smiled freely. She had forgotten to smile for the past few days. “Alright then. Let us see how this works out. But promise me. You won’t do anything without informing me.”

“I do. Thanks, Karan.” Their deep conversation ended with a sweet hug.

The next day was the festival of Sindur Khela.

Samiksha and the other ladies visited the Goddess Durga temple. Samiksha stole a moment and stood in front of the Goddess. She offered her sincere prayers and worshipped her with complete faith.
“Maa Durga, give me the strength to fight the problems that might come my way. Give me your blessings to reunite a daughter with her family. Please give me the help and support of my family in accomplishing this work. I will dance my heart out during the Sindoor Khela. I have only one wish. Next year, even Poorna will dance and celebrate with me, Bhabijaa and Maa. Bless me.”

Milthila smiled and asked Samiksha, “Beta, did you tell your wishes to Durga Ma? She fulfils every wish asked with a pure heart.”

“Yes, Ma. I did. She has heard my prayers, and I know she will grant my wishes.”
